This is the privacy policy for tinkerer.club and the Tinkerer Club Discord community. We try to keep this short and honest. Email [email protected] with any privacy question.
1.Who we are
Tinkerer Club is operated by George Kitanov (“Kitze”), sole proprietor based in Skopje, North Macedonia. Public contact: kitze.io. Privacy and data-subject contact: [email protected].
2.What we collect
- Checkout data — name, email, country, billing info. Collected and stored by Polar, our payment processor. We receive your name, email, and order metadata; we do not store full card numbers.
- Discord username — collected when you redeem your Discord invite, so we can grant the appropriate role inside the Tinkerer Club server.
- Lifecycle email address — used to send you the welcome email, onboarding nudges, and member updates. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional email at any time from the footer of any email we send.
- Product analytics — anonymous distinct ID, page views, button clicks, and session recordings on landing and free-tool pages, captured by a self-hosted PostHog instance at
posthog.server.kitze.io. Session recordings mask form inputs by default. We use this only to fix broken funnels. - Server logs — IP address, user-agent, and request path are logged at the CDN/edge layer for security and abuse prevention; rotated within 30 days.
3.Why we collect it
- Deliver paid access to the Discord and member resources.
- Send transactional and lifecycle emails about your membership.
- Improve the product (which CTAs convert, where pages break).
- Comply with payment processor, tax, and accounting requirements.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We do run our own retargeting and lookalike audiences via Meta and Google; those rely on aggregated, hashed events from our own analytics — not on your raw email or Discord handle.
4.Sub-processors
The following sub-processors handle data on our behalf:
| Processor | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Polar | Payments, receipts, customer portal | Name, email, billing info |
| Discord | Community access & chat | Discord username, role, messages you post |
| PostHog (self-hosted) | Product analytics & session recordings | Anonymous distinct ID, page views, recordings |
| Vercel | Web hosting & edge cache | Request logs, IP, user-agent (≤30 days) |
| Cloudflare | CDN & DDoS protection | Request logs, IP, user-agent (≤30 days) |
| Email provider (lifecycle) | Welcome and lifecycle email delivery | Name, email, send/open/click events |
The lifecycle email provider is currently being finalized; this page will be updated when the choice is locked. Email [email protected] for the current vendor.
5.Cookies and local storage
We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site. PostHog sets a first-party distinct-ID cookie and writes a small amount of data to localStorage so we can connect anonymous sessions across page loads. Polar may set its own cookies inside the Polar checkout flow; see Polar’s privacy policy for details.
6.Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can email [email protected] and ask us to:
- Confirm what we have on you.
- Send you a copy.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your data (we will delete your account and lifecycle email record; we have to retain payment records to satisfy tax law).
- Stop sending you non-transactional email (you can also unsubscribe via the email footer).
We respond within 30 days, usually within 1 business day.
7.International transfers
Some of our sub-processors (Polar, PostHog as a vendor option, Vercel, Cloudflare, Discord) are headquartered outside the EU. They each provide their own GDPR transfer safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, EU-US Data Privacy Framework, etc.). We rely on those contractual safeguards.
8.Children
Tinkerer Club is intended for adults. We do not knowingly process data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the account.
9.Changes to this policy
We update this page when sub-processors change or when we add a new category of data. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. If a change materially affects you, we will email registered members and post a note on /changelog.
